So happy to find another Scops Owl that doesn’t look like most of the others!
Not too much is know about this owl. It lives in the forests of Costa Rica and Panama.
Its hooting sounds like Morse code in this clip.
Angry Birb.
I think somebody interupted their plans for world domination.
Same thing we do every day, Pinky
If they ever learn teamwork, we’re screwed!

That owl is neither bare, nor getting shanked and not even screeching. I am disappointed.
Sorry, here’s one of the bare shanks.
Screech Owls don’t screech either, so I can’t help on that front.
Who tf named screech owls that then
Beats me. I could never find any decent sounding explaination that didn’t sound like an anecdote or folklore.
Here’s what they do sound like. It’s high pitched, but I wouldnt call it a screech. I find both calls very charming. Maybe people were just spooked easier in the Olden Days?
How adorable 😭😭 what a hoot
I also love bald eagles (lucky enough to have one as a neighbor) who make a little beepity chirping I like. People feel the need to dub over it.
I do like their chirpy sound, but having been next to one doing some actual screeching before, they can be pretty darn loud when they want!
It looks like it wants to shank someone
Beautiful photos. 🙂
I’m glad you enjoy them! I wanted a funk bird to kick off the week right.
“Qu’est-ce que tu as dit ?”
“What did you just say?”Qui a volé mes chaussettes?
J’ai les jambes nues!
I could get angry like that if someone stole my socks!
