I’ll probably watch it once, have some dumb fun watching it and move on.

Also the opening line in the new official trailer “As a child, I yearned for the mines” is just… chef’s kiss had me rolling xD

Who knows? I might get to extract some fun out of the cringe dialogue and uncanny CGI.

I don’t understand why it gets THAT much hate though, before it’s even released. Maybe it’s just the internet amplifying everything.

May be very shit opinion, feel free to disagree / attempt to correct

    I don’t hate it either.

It will most likely be an entertaining movie, but no masterpiece. And that is ok.

I’m probably going to watch it. Not in a cinema though, but once I can watch it at home.

Its looking like some similar issues tthat Sonic had but they dont seem to be resolving them. Its always rough bringing something into life-like detail. Doing that to Minecraft mobs was always going to make someone unhappy. Plus, as another user said, a Minecraft movie just feels like a cash grab.

I judge it off of how my 7 year old reacted.

The only thing that bother him until he played Minecraft Legends was the nether mobs invading, and how oddly realistic looking the blocks were. Otherwise he thought it was amazing when “the big dude in the pink jacket I want” threw the only ender pearl Steve had and screamed after throwing it.

I think, for the intended audience, it will do great.

I think people hate on it because it just kinda seems like a cash grab that has little to nothing to do with the game Minecraft lol

It may also have to do with the fact that the kids who grew up playing Minecraft when it came out 13 years ago are all jaded adults now?

I can’t really say for sure… I was 30 when Minecraft came out and never really understood it’s appeal in the first place lol I think I’m too old to have an opinion about it 🤷‍♂️

I have a relative in his mid-30s who tried Minecraft for the first time just a few weeks ago. This week he shared screenshots of his chicken farm and a massive LOTR-inspired monument he is building.

Nobody is too old for minecraft.

The marketing and third-party content admittedly is geared towards kids, but the game itself isn’t specifically made for them. It’s basically like Lego.

I like the cgi style they’ve gone for, it looks really fun. And just like others have said here, no one is expecting a masterpiece. It’ll be a fun family adventure, and that’s all it’s trying to be. Silly, goofy, weird and I’m all for it.

Please if you going to watch, don’t pay for it

We don’t need them thinking we want more of that

The line about yearning for the mines also made me laugh, but I didn’t think there was anything else funny in the trailer. I don’t understand the level of vitriol I see either, it just looks like a bad movie ¯\(ツ)
