Hurricane Helene is strengthening as it moves across the eastern Gulf of Mexico toward a forecast Thursday evening or early Friday morning landfall over Florida’s Big Bend Coast and is “expected to bring catastrophic winds and storm surge to the northeastern Gulf Coast,” the National Hurricane Center said early Thursday. “Preparations to protect life and property should be rushed to completion,” the center urged.

    Let’s skip to the part where they demand federal monies to rebuild in the same disaster-prone areas.

      Nah. Poor ppl who can’t afford to leave the hell hole that is Florida will have their houses destroyed. No matter how rich the area there’s always a poorer lower class living nearby to do their dirty work. The rich have lawyers to sue to get their insurance to cover damages or are covered by government flood insurance. The poor will suffer while the rich get richer and rebuild even though they built their mansions of flood plains. I lived in coastal Carolina. I’ve seen it a million times
