GrapheneOS devs from what I’ve seen is still pretty lib in a way that would effect chances of a Chinese phone getting it.
That may or may not be true (I don’t know his opinions), but he has some basic hardware requirements that almost no phones meet - including being able to re-lock the bootloader with custom keys, which AFAIK excludes all Xiaomi phones.
Edit: Technically, was a nondescript conflict the team didn’t want to release that just so happened to have all the details of a Ukrainian being drafted.
I’m a OnePlus user who finally has access to LineageOS and would love Graphene as an alternative, but I’m really not getting my hopes up. Maybe if they’re successful with one company, they can expand to others, but it’d be up to the company to meet the hardware security specs.
I just got a xaiomi 13 ultra and want this on it. The Chinese phones are awesome folks and the camara with laica is amazing.

Oh I presumed it would be a custom OEM like what it seems like they’re planning so assumed there would be some type of workaround for that.
Their choice is purely technical

Xiaomi also has horrible anti consumer practices in regards to bootloader unlocking:

Good to know! I had recalled some radlib stuff on the forums ages ago so good to know there is focused policy that ensures that’s not a factor
Didn’t one of them get drafted into the Ukraine war?
Yes.

I have a Vivo XFold 3 Pro, and I just kept the OriginOS on it. I’ve had very few issues with it.
