Image, sourced from this article, is of George Bush in 2002 meeting with María Corina Machado, who was even then being trained as a figure to oppose Venezuelan socialism, and very briefly succeeded with the Carmona Decree. Now the latest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, she has begged the Zionist entity to drop bombs on the Venezuelan people.

As of me writing these sentences, it appears that the ceasefire in Gaza is underway. Zionist ceasefires are, of course, an oxymoron - not only in the grand sense that their work to continue genocidal atrocities against others locally and regionally will not cease until the Zionist entity’s occupation of Palestine is overthrown and Palestinians can resume the governance of their territory - but also in the literal sense; that bombings and shootings are often only merely reduced, and rarely cease entirely (as was/is the case on their northern border with Lebanon). Nonetheless, hopefully the population can receive some aid, and the long process of rebuilding can begin.

On the other side of the world, it seems increasingly likely that a new war is set to begin. Because the US is eschewing the usual process of generating pro-war propaganda and casus bellis (aside from a laughably transparent Nobel Peace Prize award) and seems content to just skip straight to the “bomb and depose” step, it’s quite hard to predict what precisely they want to do. Anything seems to be on the table - from freely striking Venezuelan territory where “drug dealers” are to try and prompt a Venezuelan response, to assassinating Maduro and/or his generals and hoping a power vacuum can be filled with compradors, to attempting to outright invade Venezuela and establish direct American control over important government sites. All appear to be possibilities, though as of right now, the most drastic measures seem unlikely due to their difficulty.

We know that the US has almost totally abandoned diplomatic communication with Venezuela, and that the US has deployed warships, a nuclear submarine, F-35s, surveillance planes, and at least 4,000 military personnel to the Caribbean, with some sources putting the numbers higher. Some people have suggested that the point is to try and force Maduro into a situation where he must begin hostilities, or be seen as weak and perhaps overthrown from within. It is at least encouraging that Maduro is not like Allende in Chile, and is taking this situation extraordinarily seriously; the masses are being trained and mobilized in the event of an invasion, and military drills are ongoing. Venezuela has no real capacity to stop the US from attacking and bombing them, but it is much more possible to prevent a West-friendly puppet from gaining meaningful control of the country. A comprador might be able to make a brief statement or decree in a Venezuelan city saying that Chavismo is over, but actual power will hopefully prove very elusive.

2020, and particularly 2022, has clearly become a turning point for the Western imperial system, in which increasingly aggressive and reckless moves are required to keep the system functional (stability is, at this point, out of the question). Unfortunately, this has also resulted in the deaths of many long-lasting, inspiring figures, such as Nasrallah, and many more will certainly die before the empire collapses. If Maduro is assassinated - and I’m having trouble imagining how he won’t be doggedly pursued in the days. weeks, and months to come - I have hope that a successor will rise to continue to lead the Bolivarian Revolution.

Defense Politics Asia’s youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don’t want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it’s just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.

Welsh Independence March today in Rhyl, Northern Wales.

Some brilliant comrades of the Welsh Underground Network (and its parent org the Welsh Communist Party) are joining the procession.

If you’re a brit comrade, they’re worth a close follow because I genuinely think they’re the nucleus of the next stage of revolutionary struggle on TERF island.

Notably, the “YesCymru” org, which was spawned from the “YesScot” movement, isn’t the organiser of these recent marches. Following its effective collapse in the early 2020s thanks to fascists (TERFs, Nazis, you name it) co-opting the org early on.

The organisation that takes up the mantle of independence for Celtic nations is now “All Under One Banner” (AUOB) which, despite what the name may suggest to some, has much less tolerance to these opportunist elements. Scotland and Cornwall are seeing a resurgence of liberationism to counter English-style national-chauvinism, too.

    Iran’s deputy Foreign Minister:

Tomorrow Iran, Russia, and China will jointly send a letter to the UNSC to announce they recognise the end of Resolution 2231.

Russia, China and 121 other countries from the NaM insist that the sanctions reinstated by the US and E3 through the so-called “snapback” mechanism have no legal validity and UN member states are not obligated to implement them.

With the end of this resolution, the status of Iran’s issue at the IAEA will also change, and from now on, the IAEA Director-General will no longer be required to issue reports on the JCPOA.

Both CNN and The Financial Times are now reporting that no Tomahawks or other long range cruise missiles (AGM-158 JASSM family) will be sent to Ukraine in the immediate future. It looks like Putin’s phone call to Trump yesterday did the trick and stalled the momentum Ukraine was building on that issue. Now we await another summit in Hungary between the USA and Russia.

Elite stalling skills from Putin to be honest, he’s probably bought Russia a few weeks to months before the topic of long range fires is back on the agenda, provided the summit in Hungary goes alright. Alaska summit didn’t go well, but it also went well enough to prevent any serious escalation against Russia (long range fires were also a topic of discussion beforehand then.)

Hopefully we can all breathe a sigh of relief, at least until escalation ramps up again in a few weeks to months.

It looks like the German NordStream II investigation might be over. Poland and Italy have refused to hand over suspects to the German prosecutors and the weirdos (like Polish president Tusk) are openly celebrating this.

@donaldtusk Polish court denied extradition to Germany of a Ukrainian national suspected of blowing up Nord Stream 2 and released him from custody. And rightly so. The case is closed.

Brazil Warns of Risk of U.S. Interference in Venezuela - Telesur English

    Article

Military actions or covert operations could destabilize South America, Diplomat Amorim warned.

On Thursday, Celso Amorim, international affairs adviser to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and former foreign minister, warned that the risk of U.S. President Donald Trump interfering in Venezuelan affairs is real.

“It would be very naïve to say that this will not happen, but experience shows that the situation is taken to an extreme before a negotiation. We remain optimistic,” he told CNN Brazil.

His remarks came after Trump admitted that he had authorized military options and CIA covert operations to overthrow Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

Amorim stressed that Brazil will maintain its commitment to the diplomatic resolution of conflicts and to the principle of nonintervention, which have been pillars of its foreign policy since the postwar period.

“Brazil is against the use of force and against secret operations; we remain faithfully committed to the policy of nonintervention. This is a basic principle of international law,” he said, adding that South America would be destabilized as a result of any military attack or clandestine espionage action against Venezuela and its authorities.

With about 1,240 miles of shared border with Venezuela, Brazil fears that a U.S. intervention could trigger a large-scale humanitarian crisis, with mass displacements toward the state of Roraima and a direct impact on Amazonian communities.

“A conflict in Venezuela would not only endanger the continent’s political stability but also the security of millions of people along Brazil’s northern border,” Amorim warned, insisting that Brazil’s priority must be “to prevent war from returning to South America.”

To that end, Brazil proposes strengthening regional dialogue mechanisms such as the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), two institutions that could play a crucial role if tensions between Caracas and Washington escalate.

“History shows that when the empire crosses the line of diplomacy, the people pay the price. Brazil will not be complicit in another war on the continent,” Amorim concluded.

In a recent phone conversation, Lula da Silva told Trump that he rejects any measure involving the use of force and emphasized the need to keep diplomatic channels open with Venezuelan President Maduro.

Uruguayan Senate Legalizes Euthanasia - Telesur English

    Article

The new law allows seriously ill patients to receive medical assistance to end their lives. On Wednesday, the “Dignified Death Law” was approved by the Uruguayan Senate, after five years of debate. Twenty out of 31 senators voted in favor, including legislators from the Broad Front, the Colorado and National Parties.

The law guarantees the right to die with dignity, decriminalizing euthanasia for mentally fit adults with terminal illnesses, and it must be performed by healthcare professionals, excluding assisted suicide, where the patient self-administers the prescribed lethal medication.

The citizens in situation of disease must be mentally competent and although people with disorders such as depression are not excluded, two physicians are required to certify their psychological fitness to make the decision.

The Chamber of Deputies had given preliminary approval in August with a large majority and polls indicate that nearly 60% of Uruguayans support the law, which also received backing from President Yamandu Orsi and was celebrated by various political leaders.

he main opposition to the euthanasia law came from the Catholic Church, although the country’s increasing secularization has weakened its influence. Uruguay prohibits religious references in official oaths and celebrates Christmas as “Family Day.”

In her X account, Uruguayan Vice President Carolina Cosse stated that it is a historic event, which places Uruguay at the forefront in addressing deeply human and sensitive issues, and reaffirms the country’s commitment to dignity, freedom, and rights of all people.

Secretary of the Presidency, Alejandro Sanchez said, “The passage of the Death with Dignity law speaks to a deep commitment to human dignity and freedom. Today’s vote reflects the struggle of many, responsible debate, interparty dialogue, civil society, and academia.”

“It is a source of pride for Uruguay to overwhelmingly approve the bill that grants a fundamental right to those suffering from incurable diseases. With all the medical and legal guarantees, those in this situation will be able to choose a dignified death,” said Eduardo Brenta, a senator of the Broad Front.

With the Dignified Death Law, Uruguay joins eight countries that allow euthanasia: Spain, the Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Ecuador, Colombia, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

In Latin America, Colombia decriminalized the practice in 1997 through a constitutional ruling, although its legal implementation was in 2015.

    US Bomber Task Force deployments:

4x B-1B Lancer (or “Bone”) bombers/cruise missile carriers of the US Air Force have again returned to Japan, as they were there earlier this year. They were photographed on arrival today. These are the USAFs primary conventionally armed cruise missile carriers, 1 B-1 can carry 24x AGM-158 JASSM-ER/LRASM cruise missiles internally, which have a range in excess of 500nmi/575mi/926km. JASSM-ER for ground targets, LRASM for anti ship missions. For a total maximum salvo of 96 AGM-158 JASSM-ER/LRASM cruise missiles for the deployment. They can also carry a wide range of Paveway/JDAM precision guided gravity bombs.

    Photographs

    Flight tracking arrival, last two

    Flight tracking arrival, first two

Notably, this the same deployment (in numbers, aircraft type and location) that took place before the military action against Iran earlier this year. Aimed at deterrence towards North Korea and China.

In addition, 12x F-16CM aircraft specialising in Close Air Support (CAS) and air interdiction operations have been forward deployed from Aviano, Italy, to Saudi Arabia. Aviano (AV) is home to the 31st fighter wing, consisting of the 555th and 510th fighter squadrons. Notably, 510 squadron is historically a CAS squadron (since WW2), and operated the A-10 in Europe during the end of the cold war. In modern F-16 operations, 510 squadron was the first F-16 squadron to: drop laser guided air to ground munitions in combat, use night vision in combat, and operate as airborne forward air controllers (guiding in CAS strikes) in combat.

17 October: “The day when the gun silencer trilled”, and Palestinian vengeance was victorious

On this day in 2001, the PFLP’s Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades carried out the successful assassination of Rehavam Ze’evi, Zionist far-right minister, ex-member of the terrorist Palmach gang that participated in the Palestinian genocide of 1948, and prominent Netanyahu supporter

The ZionNazi minister was killed in response to the assassination of Abu Ali Mustafa, Secretary General of the PFLP

The famous October 17 is considered the most prominent assassination in the history of the Zionist history, which took place in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Al-Quds
