For context: People are claiming that Hasan Piker shocked his dog with a shock collar on stream for basically no reason, and got very mad at him. He put out a video showing her collar for 0.001 seconds in the world’s most awkward hand grip and saying it was clearly a vibration collar and his enemies are trying to ruin his life as they always do. People including myself are still suspicious.

I looked at the allegations in this video myself a little, and I won’t swear to the model numbers or anything but it all sounds right to me. You may need to pause the video to look at his images, he scrolls past them irritatingly quickly. There does however definitely look to me to be tape on the back of that thing. This is from Hasan’s explanation stream where he showed the collar:

Click to see the raw image and zoom it, and you’ll see pretty clearly that most of the box is shiny dark black plastic with bright white highlights, and then there’s a clear off-kilter rectangle of something that’s matte dark grey instead, without much in the way of highlights. You can also see vague shadows of two little circular things that could be prong sockets covered by tape or could just be weird compression artifacts or something.

Here it is with contrast adjusted, IDK whether this makes it more or less clear:

You can see the rectangle of the tape, and then some kind of distortion at the top that might be a prong socket, and a pretty clear circular shape at the bottom that definitely looks like it could be one.

In another part of the video you can see that circular part under the tape even more clearly. Look between his fingers to see the clear circular shape, you can even see wrinkles in the tape around the circular protrusion:

Yes, I’m already aware that the Hasan stans will say I’m making all this up and it’s not there and they don’t see anything. Anyway, that’s what it is. If I did my math right, those frames are from https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2586575954 and the timestamps are, respectively for the three images:

      Sweet! Okay, that actually clears up something which I was still sort of trying to understand. So check this out:

      The charging port is clearly not covered by the tape, you can see it as a little shiny metal circle in these images. It’s a little unclear, but in other parts of the stream you can clearly see that there’s a single metal socket that’s visible, near the edge of the thing where there is no strap (what the Twitter guy calls “the middle”). In contrast, the vibration version has its charging port against the edge of the device where the strap goes (what the Twitter guy calls “the side”). I couldn’t quite understand what he meant or the quick photos he was showing, but now digging up the identical diagram for the shocking version of this device from the same link you just sent me, it’s much more clear.

      This is the shocking version, top right diagram, from https://www.manualslib.com/manual/3613055/E-Collar-Technologies-300.html :

      You can see, in the contrast-adjusted image, the charging port as a shiny metal circle which is not covered by the tape, and then two pretty clear circular indications underneath the tape. All of them are exactly where things are on the shocking version of the device, not the vibrating version. This is 100% the shocking version of this device.

      I can show you a little bit clearer screenshot showing the uncovered charging port to illustrate that it’s nowhere near where it should be for the vibrating version. In this one, you can see it but it’s maybe a little unclear. Do you want me to dig one up and show you?

        Nah I’m pretty sure you’re looking at the light, not the charging port. Look again at the arrangement of the charging port and the rubber stopper on both. The shiny metal is closer to the wrong side to be the charging port on the shocker version. It lines up with the light in the diagram, which is probably covered by a light piece of plastic. Doesn’t look like the glint of a metal port.

          Red is the “tracking light,” blue is the on/off light, green is the charging port. It’s the same on both devices (aside from the position of the charging port). Hasan literally turns on the light while he’s playing around with the thing. There would be no point in having a light that is on the side that faces the dog, that’s why both lights are on the edge of it, facing the outside world.

            My guy, your level of investment in this seems unhealthy. It would make no sense for him to shock his dog for something she does every day on stream. There’s no need to shock a dog that has been professionally trained at a school. You can look at any stream from any day and see Kaya get up and roam between the bed and the rest of the house. It makes no sense for him to shock her for something he allows her to do every day. It would make no sense to allow it for months before and after but to randomly shock that one time.

            And you’re literally just making guesses at what you see based on what you want to be true. The non-shock model clearly has something where you’re looking, probably a battery indicator or power indicator. The level of hopeful guessing you’re doing is weird. And you’re not even trying to hide that you have a bone to pick, ngl that is kind of embarrassing.

              I didn’t have a bone to pick, but then people were still commenting to me about how I was absolutely out of my mind for thinking there was something amiss in these videos and insulting me and accusing me of being secretly in league with a multitude of “Hasan enemy” streamers I have barely heard of, two days after I posted the original video. And so I figured hey you know it’s clear that you guys are into the idea of talking about this some more, sure, sounds good, let’s talk.

              I have ignored probably close to a dozen people messaging me to tell me… well, different varieties of what you just said, why it is TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE that these detailed diagrams and photos and videos mean anything at all, because (reasons) (often boiling down to “it just doesn’t make any sense, because that would be a horrifying thing for a person to do to a dog and there would be no reason for it”).

              Anyway, like I said, I’m happy to talk more about it if you would like to.
