      are you in Deutschland?

      I am.

curious what the perspective is like on the ground after all the back and forth.

From the Ground it looks like virtually every other relevant political party is trying to steal Votes from the Nazis by copying their rhetoric and agenda, while failing to cooperate with each other against the Nazi scum, and also failing (or not even trying) to improve the lives of the majority of the population. They can’t even agree to finally ban the AfD, even though there is plenty of evidence for them striving to overthrow the constitutional order.

Especially the sucking up to Nazi voters is pretty much only working in favour of the Nazis, because it is legitimising them, and people who like that sort of thing prefer to have the real deal over voting for a cheap, half arsed copy.

The media are giving the AfD Nazi scum a platform by inviting their representatives to talk shows and interviews as if they were a normal party, and are allowing them to set the narrative.

If things keep going like they are right now, the current government coalition, like its predecessor, won’t make it to the end of their term, meanwhile, the Nazis are gaining votes. If things keep going like that, we’re looking at Nazis in government within the next 4 years.
