Due to overwhelming support for unilateral defederation from feddit.uk, we will be doing so tomorrow at 8:30pm Moscow time. Please see the previous thread for context.
We wanted to give everyone a heads-up since after we defederate, numerous account actions and deletions will NOT update on the defederated instance due to coding limitations in lemmy. This includes:
-Post edits and deletions
-Account edits (bio, profile picture, display name)
-Account deletions
In the future this will likely be fixed, but due to the dev work required it’s not feasible to change in the short term. If you have any account or post changes you want to make, please do so before 4/27 8:30pm Moscow Time, or when this post is 24hrs old.
Thanks to everyone who provided their feedback. We will continue to fight transphobia and reactionary rhetoric on this instance for the safety of our users 
Unfortunately when the varying opinion is whether or not our trans users should be harassed, there’s no room for open mindedness. We just can’t take the risk with instances who’s admins are lax on protections we enjoy here. If you find things that are posted here interesting, I’d suggest making an account.
