Reminds me of Bellagio on Lake Como. So much history makes it feel magical. Some of these shots remind me of videogames like foundation. Though the narrow streets are crazy for modern things like rental cars vs lorry drivers, our rental car may have been returned with a few extra scratches on the hubcaps and scuffs on the paint.

The posted night image is heavily edited. Beyond light filters, the entire bottom center and bottom left layer was copy pasta’d to hide some dead space and a switchback snakey road. See in the bottom center, there is a white parked car that repeats itself.
Someone heavily edited the lighting, and potentially stitched together several different photos/angles to get this night image.

The bottom layer of the photo was altered, you can see something like a parked cae that repeats itself, middle of the OP image, the two bottom layers partially repeat.

Yes. In Steam I tried both a native Linux game (Team Fortress 2) and a windows game (Expeditions Mudrunner) in compatibility mode with Proton. Both worked just fine but there are minor annoyances with COSMIC DE.
COSMIC Settings: There’s no option to set your primary and secondary display, so I had to switch around some display port and HDMI cables.
Display Issues: When I updated the display setting to 120Hz for my gaming monitor, it crashed the system and refused to boot the OS on restart, it would hang up with some error messages after the login screen. I had to start my desktop with a different monitor plugged in, and then connect my gaming monitor and make sure it was only set to 60hz so it wouldn’t crash again.
COSMIC Files: The file system doesn’t display filesize of folders or groups of files, only individual files
Verdict: COSMIC is still in Alpha but it feels really crisp and snappy, smooth interacting with applications. You may run into some minor annoyances or bugs that could lead you to need to reinstall. If you’re like me who only uses Steam and Firefox and hardly any local files/applications, you’ll probably be fine if you run into any bugs. Also I have my laptop with Gnome POPos to fall back to if my desktop running COSMIC gets bricked and needs a fresh install.
For now I am having a better experience in COSMIC PopOS than with GNOME PopOS. For a few weeks now I wasn’t able to get the PopStore running in Gnome DE, and also my firefox kept freezing the entire system after leaving a twitch stream running for a few hours. None of the issues I was having with GNOME PopOS are here in COSMIC PopOS. I’m looking forward to all the improvements and updates until full COSMIC launch. Also planning to get a System76 gaming desktop with AMD, probably next year when I can save up some money and maybe COSMIC will be more refined by then.
Not really, gaming is still my main hobby when I’m home. I’m just sinking thousands of hours in to more compelling gaming experiences.

Some minor hiccups when transferring files from a flash drive or opening local files, but otherwise everything runs great on Firefox/Steam/VLC (95% of my computer usage)

I couldn’t get video conferencing to work (zoom/google meet) so I reinstalled PopOS. Also the timezone was stuck to UTC.
I don’t have an extra computer lying around just to test COSMIC, but I did like what functionality was there. Will definitely move desktop and laptop over once its ready for daily driver.
Edit: I forgot to connect to wifi before running the terminal commands to update and upgrade. I now have COSMIC working on my gaming desktop.
I think it’s legit. Some of the big bois had shoulder heights of 4-5 meters, and if the human depicted is 1.5~1.75 meters, it looks ok.

Qobuz has been amazing. I tried almost all the music streaming platforms during the pandemic and thankfully found Qobuz!
SoundCloud: I was a long time user and a paying customer since 2016 and big advocate. Unfortunately things went downhill around that time as they started taking a lot of remixes and mixes off the platform. Then they introduced some arbitrary limits on the number of songs you could like/add to your library per day, and I kept getting banned from SoundCloud during the pandemic.
I kept threatening soundcloud support that I would cancel my plan but they didn’t care, it was a blanket decision and they accused me of making the community unsafe by liking too many songs. I didn’t care about their stupid social media aspect, I just wanted to discover new music and listen to what I liked by hitting the Like button to save songs to my library.
So eventually SoundCloud drove me off their platform and I ended up on Qobuz.
Even thought the Qobuz selection is more limited for the genres of music I listen to, its been an amazing few years on Qobuz with HiFi listening and I like how I can discover more music from the artists and labels that like or discover.
Qobuz migration progress: I found 1000 songs so far. I didn’t find 500 songs, mostly smaller artists or remixes. I still have another 1500 songs to sort through. But the great part about this journey is moving to high fidelity listening, and the process of discovering more music from my favorite artists or other artists on the same labels.
I ended up getting a bunch of gear from Schiit, DAC(Modi, headphone amp (Magni), speaker amp(Rekkr), desktop speakers, and a Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro. Been in HiFi heavenly bliss ever since getting pushed off soundcloud.
