Drag is cool but I don’t know how to think about crossdressing’s association with minstrelsy.

It doesn’t just mock Black women but also mocks Black queerness. And in doing so mocks queer people more generally.

I don’t know how I should feel about crossdressing minstrelsy. It’s both a repudiation of transfeminity as taboo and a secret illicit pleasure in it.

I need to read more on the history of Blackface.
