A friend and I averaged 21.2 mph over 12 miles on our bicycles the other day, with no assist. We were just rolling along. Should we be subject to regulation?

Those mopeds are pretty expensive, and add in the insurance, tags, and such and it’s like, “Maybe I should just drive my car…and have air conditioning… And be faster…”

If a doctor is always going to check it, what’s the value of the AI?

I’m kind of looking at ebikes for my ~10 mile commute to work, which uses no bike paths. 20 mph would be okay, but faster would be nice. Part of the route is on a country road, the rest is on the shoulder of a 50 mph highway (which is pretty wide and very popular for cycling already).

I understand the bike path concern, but in my use case, there isn’t much reason to be limited to 20 mph.

I work for a bike shop, though, so I might be limited to brands they sell. :)

Sometimes that little thing is the straw. You’ve had a rough few days, all kinds of twists and turns, but hey you have a relaxing weekend coming up to recharge, so you held it together, then that little thing happens and it’s like “ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh fuck!”

That little thing, by itself, probably wouldn’t matter that much…but on top of everything else, it’s a different story.

For me, it’s a huge headache saver. We have a 60 lb dog who likes to get into bed with us, along with one of our cats. If I don’t make my side of the bed prior to my wife and the dog getting in, I’m probably not going to have usable sheets and blankets for the night. Wherever the sheets are when he decides to hop in, that’s where they’re staying.

So, I definitely make at least my side of the bed every day, at some point. Not usually right away in the morning, but it definitely gets done. I don’t go all out on it, just get the sheet and blanket (and comforter, in winter) in essentially the right position for me. It’s critical for a good night of sleep.

And, yes, we probably shouldn’t have let him in the bed in the first place. Lesson learned. That’s a whole other story. But the damage is done.

Was the TV just resting on that ledge?

With a good router, it’s not that hard to do. But even then it took me a long time to get around to setting up the separate network, and I don’t think I’ve migrated all of my devices over to it still (some got moved, new ones go there, but there are some older devices still sitting on the original network). So, yeah, there’s definitely extra effort, and it’s not really fun like getting that new smart device integrated. I will say the stuff on that network works perfectly - I haven’t noticed any side effects.

Oh I did allow them access to the pool ntp server so they can pick up the correct time, and some require temporary access to the internet while setting up (the linknlink RF device needed it to download the Home assistant version of their firmware, for example).

On the other hand, making the top notch pilot - you know, the one she sprung from prison because he was so good at piloting - also the assistant in sickbay was a questionable decision. Surely there was someone whose job was vacuuming the carpet in the crew mess hall, or some other less critical job, who could help in sickbay during emergencies, and not your top pilot who could save everyone’s lives with his piloting skills.

When I install a new application, I generally run it immediately. Having the new indicator might be nice to help find it - they don’t always drop into the menu where I expect.
