I personally use the fork of NewPipe that adds sponsorblock Does exactly what I need it to

Xubuntu just because it was the first one I found when looking for something that worked with a really old computer I had
Recently started Busuu for Russian
The quality is far better than that of Duolingo and I’ve been enjoying it
Wow thankfully I don’t use any of those distros
If they’re dead and didn’t kill people I think I’m fine separating art fron artist when needed
More specifically, if they were a not great person, nobody directly associated should be making money from the art I consume
Mine is spending far too much time on lemmy without contributing anything
I want community
I want real relationships and connections
I want to feel human
The way I am forced to live takes it from me
Go to college, work for the rest of my life, die
I feel chained to living a way I do not want to live, and if I were to try to escape, I wouldn’t survive long
I have to make plans for a future I don’t want
A future that does not matter to me
This isn’t what I want
But I have no way out
I’ve always disliked tieing my shoes but I just made myself learn this knot and I love it
Honestly beautiful
There’s a bunch of hardbass I like that’s usually in Russian or some other slavic language Mostly listen to Uamee
Honestly pretty slow lately
I’ve gotten to the point that I can talk to people and stuff in my target lang and I find it hard to progress from there
I also want to start learning Yiddish, but after quitting duolingo and not having money for anything else, it’s difficult to do much learning at all
Librelingo is the only thing I’ve seen close to what Duolingo tries to be, but sadly it seems under-developed and doesn’t offer anything other than very beginner Spanish so far
Revolt devs are kinda hostile to other instances which is a shame
Tbh not even sure they really care about FOSS status, seems more like just a buzzword thing or maybe trying to pull a Duolingo
0, I quit
Before I killed it, I had 443, and easily could have kept going if I had desired
The layoffs and AI thing are only a partial reason for me leaving The whole volunteer shutdown when that happened, hiding 4 of their courses, and some other minor bad decisions made me stop Not to mention, Duolingo is very slow at times and doesn’t teach any grammar unless you happen to be learning one of the 3 top languages
Looks like it has a lot of promise Finally what I am looking for in a client I’m gonna stick with FluffyChat though and let Commet cook for a bit
