Crushes are fun, but we romanticize the person into someone they’re not.
This. So much this. I fell in this trap a few times and even though I overcame the fear of asking out and the other side accepted and we dated a few times, eventually my disappointment with the difference between what I imagined the person would be vs how the person actually is would kick in and I would start blaming the other person and/or start criticizing the other person.
I now realize that I was trying to force the other person into my personal view of “how that person should be” and that was very unfair to them but I didn’t realize what I was doing while doing it.
I don’t doubt that is how the current supreme court would interpret it. This approach of asking “how the founding fathers would think” results in exclusion of non-white citizens. On the other hand, lack of atandardized identification documents in the USA result in this mess.
If we go by the text, only “americans” have that right. Now, the important question is “what is an american”? What characterizes a “non-american” according to the founding fathers?
This is such an irrational bar to surpass
Remember the old maxim: “no one hates new immigrants more than old immigrants”… Their fellow legalized immigrants supported this outcome as well

Gaza was going down anyway as it does not matter who is sitting as US president. I still don’t understand why Americans focus so much on overseas stuff and let their own people slowly drown, economically

Looks like even 4chan data, tbh.
