If your TV has a USB port you can just plug in a USBstick or external drive.
Or connect a laptop or something via HDMI cable to the tv
Or you can go the full server route with jellyfin and stream to a pi connected to the tv
I use a 2011 second hand kindle. I convert the books with calibre to awz3 format and copy them over USB to the kindle. No amazon account needed.
I watch videos and read articles and use LLMs to give me the key points to grasp the basics. Then build upon that knowledge with more focused learning.
I usually opt for 720p for movies and SD for shows. They’re good enough for me and I can store way more. The other thing is the devices and screens are dated now so at some point in the future I’ll probably want to get it all again at better quality but for now it does the job.

I have a hacked ps3,Wii and xbox original. I would only consider a hacked console going forward. The experience is just way better. But these days I just use steam with the steamdeck to support Linux and play my roms in emudeck.
