Which is really ironic now that I think about it because even if it’s something as cool as a rocket launch, if it’s SpaceX, I will instantly change the channel or avert my eyes because fuck that asshole.

Gordon Calhoun@lemmy.worldto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Europe launches program to lure scientists away from the USEnglish3·5 days agoIf someone has a master of science or even bachelor of science degree, does that count as being sciency enough? What if they know the value of, and all the steps for, the scientific method? What if they even know many of the squigglier notations for maths?
Gordon Calhoun@lemmy.worldto science@lemmy.world•SpaceX pushed “sniper” theory with the feds far more than is publicly knownEnglish34·6 days agoOne [theory] was the possibility that an outside “sniper” had shot the rocket. This theory appealed to SpaceX founder Elon Musk, who was asleep at his home in California when the rocket exploded. Within hours of hearing about the failure, Musk gravitated toward the simple answer of a projectile being shot through the rocket.
I feel like pathological paranoia can be a sign of having a guilty conscience.
