While I have my run ins with tankies sometimes, I actually don’t think it’s that bad. Join an instance that blocks lemmygrad and hexbear, ignore lemmy.ml or block it too and you’re golden.
That’s the power of fediverse, it’s flexibility.
Also tankies have a strong foothold on Lemmy, because they were here first. But they are not as numerous as you or they themself think. Watch them outside of their safespace communities and see them downvoted into oblivion.
Some time ago some Tankie on worldnews.ml called South Korea „occupied“. After I asked about it I was banned, lol.

That’s actually something I think about quite often recently. People 150 years ago didn’t have electricity at all, what did they do?
First the things that would be really helpful if already built into your home: It helps if you have a gas or wooden stove to cook meals. Same with heating, a masonry stove for example could really make a difference.
Stuff that’s good to have is a small camping gas stove, some LED lanterns, tons of batteries and candles. Powerbanks to charge your mobile phones, maybe a few solar cells on the roof with some batteries connected to it. Maybe even a small emergency power generator. Don’t forget the fuel for it.
What you can do: Go for a hike. Read books, play boardgames and cards. Do puzzles. Write! Get a notebook and a pen ( I recommend actually fountain pens) and do some journaling. Write about your day, your dreams or your concerns. Make a list what parts of the world you want to visit before you die or anything else you can think about. Learn to draw or to paint. Maybe it’s time to put up the guitar that’s gathering dust in the corner.

The Food Lab von Kenji Lopez-Alt ist meine Bibel, darin findest so ziemlich alles auf unterhaltsame Weise verpackt. Gibt’s leider möglicherweise nur auf englisch, musst mal gucken. We hat auch ein wok Kochbuch geschrieben, das kenn ich noch net.

I read as always several books at once.
One of them is Babel by R. F. Kuang. I was blown away at first, but after the first third of the book I’m not as as enthusiastic anymore. Everything to do with languages and translation is awesome, the characters are well defined but a bit one-dimensional so far, but I think the plot is nothing to write home about and has some „young adult“ vibes to me. It’s still good though, and I’m far from finished yet.
Another one is „the notebook a history of thinking on paper“ I just got it today, but it looks very promising.
Yeah, never could get into the baroque cycle von Stephenson. And he wrote at least 2 of my favourite books, Snow Crash and cryptonomicon. Reamde is also very good. But Quicksilver is just not as interesting as the premise suggests.
Wirklich lesenswert! Man sollte sich allerdings etwas Zeit nehmen dafür, das ist kein kurzer Text. Also eher in einer ruhigen Minute daheim auf dem Sofa als so zwischen Tür und Schwelle.

Genau. Weil ja keiner gekifft hat, bevor Gras legalisiert wurde. Ich denke schon dass deine Idee was für sich hat, aber: Du bist jetzt Bundeskanzler. Du setzt jetzt diese Plane um. Was glaubst du was passiert? Brauereien wegen Zeder und Mordio schreien. Politiker werden von Zerstörung deutscher Traditionen und Kultur sprechen. Wörter wie Verbotspartei und gängelung werden die Runde machen. Zeitungen und soziale Medien werden sich überschlagen. Das ganze wird sehr schwer durchzubringen sein und an politischen selbstmord grenzen.
Es ist sehr schwer die Bevölkerung mit verboten und erlassen erziehen zu wollen.
