Steam deck convinced me to try Linux. I installed Mint on saturday and I’m pretty happy.
Sad that Adobe doesn’t work well with it, but everything else seemed pretty hassle free

Good to know it’s not just me then. I’m sorry to hear that scribus is actively frustrating though.
I did make a dual boot switch to Linux. Been really liking it so far, but I’m sad to realize that Adobe doesn’t really work with it :(
I’ll either have to keep windows on a partition, or I’ll have to use a Virtual Machine for adobe in linux, neither of which feel awesome, but… What can you do?
Switching to Davinci Resolve is something I tried earlier, but I found it a bit clunky
Been considering doing that myself, but am worried I’m not tech-y enough
Same. It’s like the one thing where I am a total boomer on
Reminds me of how everything on a computer used to be a “program”, but now they’re all just “apps”
Upon further inspection; The music teachers already have a Mac there, so setting up AirDrop is honestly a wonderful idea that we’ll look further into. Thank you so much!
Oooh, excellent idea. I’ll look into viability of airdropping. Most of our current machines at work are windows machines, so… while it probably could work, ease of use is also an important aspect when so many of the teachers are a step below tech savvy.
Not to mention ease of use for the pupils who are often even more tech illiterate.
I’ll look into it. Thank you!
Not a bad idea. I’ll ask! Thank you
There are only two iPads and various student groups who rotate between classes. Group 1 might be in place mondays and thursdays, group 2 on tuesdays and wednesdays.
The software is garage band, and the students all have their own computers, but they’re not supposed to bring those to music class because it’s too bulky for 30 kids to all bring their laptops and so on.
What about those who use :3c ?
A charitable reading says that you should still research and verify the things that are “a given”. I mean, YOU know it, I know it, we all know it here… But at least now we have an official report to point to when people try to downplay it?
Ah, who am I kidding? They wouldn’t care anyway
If you have a steam deck, I can recommend it there. Ran like a dream!
Correct! The demo is HUUUGE too. Real fun
Oh I just started playing that a few days ago! That was really fun! Thanks for the recommendation again
Has its merits among the world’s normies, but if that’s not who you are, then that’s fine too. :)
The easiest way to navigate social landscapes with people you don’t fit 100% with is to latch on to the things that make you fit together.
Like, if sexuality is what sets you apart then focus on talking about books, current events (though if you’re from the US, maybe not politics), hobbies etc.
My main squeeze is gaming, but I’ve gotten a bit to talk about regarding coffee after Covid.
You will always have something to bring to the table, and if the normies are secure in who they are, they won’t mind you talking about your sexuality either.
I guess what I’m saying is that you’re going to be fine. The normies are certainly not in lockstep like the post suggests, and that’s alright. You just focus on being the best version of yourself, and it’ll all be okay
You are welcome, no matter your sexuality. You’ll still fit in :)

Dual booting W11 and Linux Mint. I like linux, but can’t get adobe premiere to work satisfactorily there. There are also some softwares like a viewer for 3DS games on my modded 3DS that I can’t really use either
