I’m so happy this is the top comment when I came in here. We’re not centralized social media that requires constant content generation to acquire more views and we shouldn’t try to treat it as such. Donate to your instances when you can, contribute to communities you care about with posts/comments, and then when you reach the end of your feed log off. How forums are supposed to be imo.

Pulling from some other instances’ list of blocked instances:

• rammy. site (becoming more exploding heads-like due to what appears to be admin abandonment)
• detroitriotcity. com (similar vibes to exploding heads crowd)
• eientei. org (racism in one of the opening rules on their about page, very exploding heads-like with a dash of shota/loli content)

There’s probably some more that honestly shouldn’t cause many issues for an instance this size but probably good to defederate preemptively. I was going to pull from lemmy.world’s blocked instance list because I think they have a good list built there, but their site is down so I can’t see the actual list they have defederated lol
