Dagwood_Sanwich@lemmy.worldto Europe@feddit.org•Europe must stop playing middleman and start leading on Ukraine -- [Opinion]English21·1 天前There would be no nuclear war because it’s doubtful that Russia’s nuclear arsenal even works. you should look at what goes into maintaining nuclear weapons and consider the absolute state of Russia’s government. Odds are those in charge of maintaining the nuclear arsenal would sell the tritium because of how valuable it is, then claim the nuke works.
Also, Putin wouldn’t be foolish enough to risk his own demise. He’s more than willing to kill others and sacrifice his own people, if he launched a nuclear weapon, the entire western world would be after his head. Putin know this and is why he hasn’t tried dropping a tactical nuke on Kyiv or exploded one in the atmosphere to fry the power grid. He either can’t or knows he’ll spark a much larger conflict if he does.
This is why countries like Russia, China, etc walk all over the west. The people are too scared to stand up to them. The Russian military is pathetically weak. The Chinese military is no better.
Oof, my post must have caused you a moment of reality. You closed your eyes, covered your ears and began chanting Democrat mantras.
That’s not the worst idea. The problem is the price.
You can say it, but you’d be hysterically wrong, like any other time Democrats or Republicans have whipped themselves into hysteria to protect themselves from reality.

It’s the same party, try to justify supporting them as you please.
It’s the opposite. the Democrats have been doing it for 100 years so it’s fine for Texas to do it.
Now you’re just trying to gaslight. Any time the Democrats don’t win, you lose your shit and you know it.
But, yes, do run away and block me because I’m sure by now the cognitive dissonance is reaching critical levels.
Dagwood_Sanwich@lemmy.worldto Europe@feddit.org•Europe must stop playing middleman and start leading on Ukraine -- [Opinion]English82·2 天前If western leaders were not spineless cowards who spend their time wringing their hands over their reelection chances, the Russia/Ukrainian war would have never started.
All the US and Europe would have had to do is say, “If Russia invades Ukraine, we’re declaring war on Russia and if Russia deploys a nuclear weapon, every major Russian city will immediately become a glowing crater.”
Putin would have back off immediately because that would be a fight even HE knows that Russia has absolutely no chance of winning.
You “care about outcomes”? Bullshit. you care about your political team winning. There’s a difference. It’s why you engage in the typical Democrat hysteria and spew their talking points with no consideration for reality.
Then when the midterms come, if Republicans gain more seats, you’ll be screeching louder and becoming more and more hysterical. Then in 2028, if (assuming he’ll run) JD Vance wins, you’ll be shitting yourself and wondering why so many people are “turning into fascists” as you continue blindly spewing your political party’s talking points.
If Trump was a Democrat, you’d be polishing his shoes with your tongue and talking about how good the polish tastes and talking about how no one is above the law, which is why illegal immigrants have to go home and come back the right way.
Don’t lie to yourself. This is why you spent 4 years defending Biden, despite his obvious dementia.
Dagwood_Sanwich@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•USB-C ports no longer sending/receiving data (Lenovo X1 carbon)21·2 天前That’s possible. Not all physical damage on a computer is visible to the naked eye.
If your computer has a selective USB suspend setting, try turning it off.
Alternatively, try pulling the battery out, holding the power button for several seconds to drain all power from the machine, then putting the battery back in and seeing if that does anything.
I see another unserious person who can’t think beyond their political talking points.
Come back when you’re capable of thinking and speaking intelligently and not mindlessly spouting your political gods’ talking points.
I am also not “right wing” but you see anyone who doesn’t worship your poltiical gods as such, so I suppose you would see it that way.
They expand the services to trap more and more people in the gill net. The bigger the net, the more people trapped.
Also, the cliffs aren’t created by “fascists” trying to cut services. The cliffs are written into the programs specifically to stop people from escaping the gill net. This is even present in VERY blue states. Also, your casual use of the term “fascists” is telling.
If it wasn’t intentional, the losses would be gradual as the person makes more money to wean them off the benefits, rather than making them worse off for having the nerve to dare make more than the state sanctioned amount of money. Anyone capable of basic logic would know that this would be necessary to get people off of welfare, which SHOULD be temporary for people who fall on hard times, not a lifestyle for generations on end.
The problem is that when people rise to the middle class, they tend to be less receptive to the idea of voting for more and more taxes and government programs because then it’s THEIR money that is being taken. Those at the bottom who depend on the government are more than happy to vote for it because then it’s taking someone else’s money and benefits themselves. This is a problem for Democrats because they rely on a permanent underclass of impoverished people who depend on various welfare programs to draw their power from.
Define “destroy democracy”.
It’s a meaningless buzz phrase the Democrats bandy about to stir up hysteria and prevent people from thinking critically. It wasn’t Trump who tried to weaponize the government to force a political candidate from running and tried to keep said candidate tied up in court so they couldn’t campaign.
People capable of critical thinking burned out on the hysteria between 2016 and 2021. This is why Trump got reelected in 2020. The Democrat hysteria didn’t work and the Democrats actively trying to weaponize the government to stop Trump was so blatantly obvious that it turned a huge number of people against them.
Also, you’re doing precisely what I described. Denying reality in service of your political party. You call it a “conspiracy theory” because then you can use that label to deny reality. Biden was a pedo and has dementia, it was obvious. you didn’t care because he was “on your team”.
It’s also not a theory. It’s a fact.

It’s not insane. It’s the truth. Why do you think the FBI, who does not pursue lost or stolen personal possession cases, went after the Ashley Biden diary?
The Biden Administration knew it would be bad news if the contents of that diary were made public. Some of it was and even SNOPES had to admit that it was real and the contents that were released were confirmed.
And why else would Ashley write that she had to wait until late at night to shower because of her father? Those who worship the Democratic Party ignored the obvious, that he was a pedo and he has dementia.
Call it insane if you want, I call it reality.
Dagwood_Sanwich@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•GOP's Texas map has Austin residents sharing district with rural Texans 300 miles away13·2 天前Bullshit. Where’s the outrage from the people screeching about Republicans Gerrymandering?
There is none. They’re actively cheering the Democrats coming out and saying, “If Republicans are going to copy our tactics and Gerrymander, which we invented, then WE will Gerrymander EVEN HARDER!”
This is the “nuclear option” all over again. Democrats used the nuclear option to force through presidential nominees, then got pissed off when Republicans followed suit.
Dagwood_Sanwich@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•GOP's Texas map has Austin residents sharing district with rural Texans 300 miles away13·2 天前I call out hypocrisy when I see it. Democrats have been Gerrymandering since 1820, but you seem to be perfectly fine with it. Therefore, it’s fine when Republicans do it too, because turnabout is fair play.
If someone brings a sword to a boxing match, they shouldn’t be surprised when the other person brings their own sword.
I’ve seen this mentality before.
