Imagine, instead of “hate”, its "You cant talk about trans people without handing over your ID. Are you ok with that? Cos right now, youre OK with kicking 4chan out, even though that wouldnt get rid of whatever problem you dont like. But at some point, say, Trump. Could get a law going into effect similar or worse than the UK one, only instead of porn, its “Woke”. And he and his cronies get to decide what “woke” is and how to age verify you to be able to access services for gender care.

And the age shit isnt even the worst part. The UK government wants apple and facebook and everyone else with a messaging app, to create a window for the government to scan messages. They say for abuse. Luckily, it cant be done as it would break the current encryption methods used. But that doesnt mean they cant force it later on down the road. And got forbid your girlfriend or wife sends you a naughty text message with “Daddy” at the end. You knock on the door, and pedo label slapped on your citizenship score.

Whenever you want something new to be put into law. Always look to see the worst case that it can be abused, and then ask if you still want it. Scanning messages might protect a few kids, so its worth it right? But the cost is that for the rest of time, no one gets any privacy in their communications. And worse, the government can your private communications to profile you and then sell that data, above or below board. Does it still sound great?

Its been shit since covid. Everyone constantly online, and really ramping up the stupid as fuck culture wars. “Back in my day” I could log into a chat room, have some fun conversations, and then log off without getting pissed off or pissed on. I could look at movie news, and not be swapped by performative hate or praise for whatever fucking movie is or isnt “woke”.

Everywhere you go, you see “Be civil” or “Be respectful”. But all that really means is, dont question out echo chamber. And if you do, well, turns out not being civil towards you doesnt count.

Now you know how everyone else feels. It used to be focused on gender. But theres been a pivot to sex. Why? I dont know. It seems like people all of sudden want “trans” be a dirty word, and by people, I dont mean MAGA chuds who hate anything that its them.

Followed by: ‘the terms biological male and female had no defined and agreed meaning in science’ and ‘Biological sex is a nebulous term and it doesn’t really mean anything, because nobody can accurately or usefully define biological sex because pretty much every human I’m aware of is at least in part biological and many of them have a sex characteristic.’

Similar things are popping up all over social media. I dont care what anyone says they are. Trans, non binary, whatever. They can all live their lives as they see fit. Its this push to justify it with outliers thats annoying. And it just takes us right back to the arguments over attack helicopters, which I thought were long behind us.

Or perhaps, its fucking text book? Christ, pick up a book and actually read it sometime, instead of just getting all your information from facebook.

We know exactly what they meant, because they said the words. Thats how you know what people mean. If they meant to say make bigots feel uncomfortable, they would have said that. But they didnt. Why? Because they see all straight people as the enemy in this weird little culture war they have going on.

Im a firm believer in you doing whatever you want in life, as long as it doesnt hurt anyone else. Trans, gay, straight and everyone else in between. You do you. But when I see this shit? Some of them might be, that that doesnt mean you get to hate them all, any more than you get to hate all black guys because some of them sell drugs to kids. Thats just bigotry, and it makes hate so much easier to spread. Just look at MAGA, and how easily it spread amongst them. All because nuance left the conversation, and everyone started to generalise. Its enough, it really is.

If everyone calls you a dick for long enough, it will chip away at your self esteem. Eventually, in order to try to improve your situation, you’ll reach out to something bigger than your self. Thats happens every single day for things MUCH less than treating people like they are fascists. For most people, the thing they reach out for is a football team or something like that. But for others, it can be something much worse. Like race, or religion, of political parties. People often ask “How is racism still a thing?” Well, this is how. Low self esteem. And it happens every day with out the help of fuckwits like the guy I responded to, who has clearly already made their choice to be a bigot.

Theres never any excuse to hate a person because of their skin colour, their sex/gender, or who they love. And if youre trying to make an excuse, you might not be the hero of the story you think you are.
