Gamescope is developed by Valve and none of these parameters gives you unfair competitive advantage. I’ve used gamescope for many years and never had an issue.
Gamescope does support Reshade effects, and I would not encourage enabling those.
Thanks. I’ll update the post.
I have edited my original title.
Sorry. Counter strike. I edited my original title.
Thanks for the input. I’ve expanded on this point and tried to explain how it works in my original post.
Without adaptive sync is still better than native resolution without gamescope, so I’m not sure why you’re so dismissive. I’m just trying to share a list of tweaks that made the experience better.
Adaptive sync + downscaled resolution with black bars + -noreflex + sane graphics settings in CS
I think this is incorrect. I suspect it is because I am using a variable refresh rate display (LG 38GN950P). According to arch docs
If your monitor supports it, enable variable refresh rate by passing the --adaptive-sync flag
However, I am forcing gamescope to downscale to play at a lower resolution (without the game looking like a blurry mess)
Oh absolutely. We need stricter regulations and probably break some monopolies, but I suppose we’re stuck for a few years as Zuckerberg is zucking up to Trump.
“Everyone” wants to quit Facebook, but refuse to because that’s where they find “everyone”. But honestly, everyone has email and SMS as well. I have even seen a huge spike in signal users in my address list in the last weeks. I can now reach most of my friends and family on signal, where I only had ~3 friends on signal a few years ago. I might have contributed to that in my circles.
Be the change! Tell people that you’re not on facebook anymore, and that they can reach you on signal. They don’t want to use signal? Okay, use texts or call then.
Edit: Oh and yes, I also have kids with activities, a job, board positions etc. This complicated thingsa little bit, but not that big of a deal.
Neat. Wasn’t aware of silverblue. I’ll drop it into my Ventoy USB :)
Wish they allowed adding a secondary address for the student email account. Seems like you have to use the school address as the primary email.
Fair enough
Personally I prefer Debian for servers and something like Fedora Workstation for desktop/laptop. More recent packages and frequent updates on Fedora.
Super happy with Fedora. Both KDE and Gnome spins are great. So far no stability issues. The only thing I miss from EndeavourOS is AUR, but honestly, most apps I use are available in flatpak or homebrew anyway.
This might have been partly true 10 years ago. A large majority of his audience is probably adult now.
