But it’s BS - there is no rock bottom. Things can always get worse. There is no miraculous cure. You need to make change happen.

Amerikanismus scheint immer noch stark zu sein. Man nimmt sich ein Beispiel. Lässt sich nicht bitten. Vor allem bei unserer neuen
konservativenrechten Regierung. Warum bloss?

Europe should take note.English9·8 days agoDaily reminder that FOX themselves said that their News channel is not news but entertainment, and people cannot be expected to take it seriously. … Then why is it still OK to call it News?
And don’t get me started on certain far-right podcast grifters.

This is drinking water”English211·8 days agoSorry to say but this is just one aspect of dropping out of all climate contracts national, international and global. And yes, AI is making this much worse.
“Hyperscale data centers are the really large data centers that are being built now for [generative] AI, which is really driving a lot of the growth in this sector because it requires vast data processing capabilities,” said Volzer. “The trend is larger and bigger centers to feed this demand for AI.”
Much of the water used in data centers never gets back into the watershed, particularly if the data center uses a method called evaporative cooling.
Think about that the next time you “ask ChatGPT” something.
Just one more reason not to use servers located in the USA for anything.
John Steinbeck books are everywhere: in giveaway boxes, on my father’s bookshelf, in every library. I’m ashamed to say that’s the only reason I have never read any.
How does he fare in readability?

And it makes me feel worse than all the shooting and killing. Whoever is complicit in this, whoever “just followed orders” any step along the way of abducting kids from their families and forcefully supplanting them, I want to see them rot in hell.

Back then “but Google is actually doing good things in IT” was still going strong and people pointing this out were often dismissed as tinfoil hatters even if the proof was there; I’m glad that has changed somewhat.
I knew what this was before I clicked it! On top of everything else, I love the choice of music. It’s the same pseudo-oriental music they use in movies and TV show when they introduce a terrorist lair in some Arabic nation. Preferably in squalor. Unbearable heat, hungry children barely moving in the dust. Or a docu about Al Qaeda.
edit: oh, it’s just a cut from the whole video. How could you forget Dijon-Gate, Bicycle-Gate and many more! Truly the worst POTUS ever. And people begrudge Trump a little vanity. SMH
Hmm, maybe the G in MAGA does not stand for “great” after all.
Trump is kinda the opposite. He’s all about that peanut farm, and was from the start. POTUS is just a way to get more peanuts. And narcissism of course.
I will always love the story about how it’s made in China - the country whose name our Führer can only cough out with a derisive undertone. While claiming it was made in North America. And it hasn’t got any gold in it - just fiberglass and chrome color.
My first thought! Definitely not this guy:

In response to recent privacy concerns, we’ve significantly strengthened Zen’s privacy measures. Previously, we only disabled telemetry, but some minimal pings were still being sent. Now, Firefox telemetry has been completely stripped out from the core.
Additionally, onboarding pages and initial Essentials favicons are now locally bundled and our website no longer relies on any external services, CDNs, nor Cloudflare services. Initial Essentials selected on startup will only be loaded when the tab is clicked on, so connections won’t be established until you explicitly enter the tab. We also changed our onboarding Essentials options to more privacy and productivity focused sites.
Only critical security updates and other non-telemetry-related services remain. As a result, the number of external connections has dropped from 82 to around 20-10 — factoring in that Zen’s site is loaded twice (for the welcome page and privacy policy).
Librewolf + LocalCDN is still better. Fight me!
Imagine the USA being the new North Korea, Donald Jr. eventually following his father to the throne. Ostracized by the world. Global hacker scams and their own version of Juche. The parallels are astounding, esp. if you make a few simple deductions into the near future: distribution of wealth, collapsed economy while claiming it’s booming…
