But I also get it too. Sometimes, the question is stupid, so there’s a strong urge to point it out.
Thing is, that’s the point of the community, that you’re supposed to be able to ask almost anything and have the question answered without mockery or derision. The almost is because some people will abuse it and try to sneak in bigotry in disguise, and there are some topics that may be barred to prevent endless repetition or slap fights in comment sections that do nothing useful.
If someone only makes an empty comment, they’re kinda useless. And the ones that only comment to say “this is a stupid question” oughta be banned, permanently, imo. Now, it’s fine to crack a joke about it if you’re going to actually answer the fucking question, but if you can’t be bothered to give an on topic response along with a joke, you can fuck right off.
Wasn’t on no stupid questions, but someone asked “is it normal to be yelled at for asking a question” and they were called an idiot and a troll just for asking, iirc. Maybe I was too emotional, but I reported it for not being civil
I saw that post, and it annoyed the hell out of me too. That person is just a kid, and a pretty nice one at that.
Like, fuck, this kid is in here trying to learn and figure things out, maybe don’t be a dick to them and they’ll grow up into the kind of human being that’s considerate and patient with others. It takes way less effort to just scroll on by instead of being a dick to someone that isn’t hurting anyone.
if it’s who i think it is, it’s miraculous they aren’t banned. they seem to have a history of hostility to ppl they disagree with. May be someone else but i remember them complaining to ban a user bc “i disagree with op, they don’t. Must be an alt.”
