When I lived in the Middle East studying the Syria war outbreak and social media / media systems ecology of public, region to region, platform to platform…
People willing to murder, kill, wage war, The Crusades, the terrorism acts, for deception to pass down to their children. For falsehoods, for fiction content.
How they will kill and murder others for pursuit of truth, seeking honesty and sincerity. As happened to Malala in Swat Valley, Pakistan. It really was hard for me to accept that I had grown up with these same teachings… to die for a storybook, for fiction, was the honorable killing and murder of non-believers in that one and only one “Good Book”. And Malala, like Martin Luther King Jr in my birthplace state of Georgia, was murdered for pursuit of factual non-fiction truth and interpretation, not just praising fiction above all else, and one storybook above all other stories.
You see it here today (2024 and 2025 USA) with Twitter-think Fox-news audience, Reddit-audience, Lemmy audience, people getting off like terrorists do in wanting to hurt and harm those who don’t agree with the fiction.
It took me a very very very hard time to to come to terms the way people love fiction stories and dehumanize persons / people / non-believers in their fiction. The systemic assault on those who research and share factual truth. The Pandemic showed this in spades too, so many were afraid to speak science truth in the face of the fiction… because people want to kill those who don’t agree with the fiction, and the fiction believers want to die by disease for their fiction, suicide terrorism.
Now in April 2025, there are thousands of fiction patterns people tune into on social machines / media machines and they are willing to systemically destroy those who disagree, it’s an orgy of fiction wrecking people who seek truth. The Kremlin + White House Unified assault on goodness and sincere understanding.
In the face of the White House 2025, people don’t say: hey, we are drowning in bullshit. Maybe we should all start educating on why ChatGPT is bad, and why fiction can confuse people, and why Fox News belief in falsehoods and nonsense is bad for society. Instead, people cling to their non-identity social media systems and want to generate more and more throw-away messages that only drown out what little remains of goodness and sincere understandings.

April 16 afternoon
As long as we have fiction to pass down.
When I lived in the Middle East studying the Syria war outbreak and social media / media systems ecology of public, region to region, platform to platform…
It took me a lot of time to come to terms what Moyers and Campbell had said about “die for a metaphor”.
