    Officials may ask to inspect your electronic devices, emails, text messages or social media accounts. If you refuse, they can deny your entry

    Let’s remember that this has been the case for years for anyone entering Australia too.

      Denied entry isn’t a big deal. Being detained for weeks/months for criticizing the orange mobster would be.

        Price Ticket from Australia and another 24 hours in flight are a big deal too. Not to mention contractual obligations to perform.

      Yes, but the data isn’t being used to silence criticism, like in the USA. However, that just goes to show how important privacy laws are in principle, not just based on who’s in power. Who’s in power changes.

        There’s no actual evidence to suggest it’s being used to silence criticism in the USA either though. This woman didn’t go to the USA. She didn’t get denied entry.
