Violet sits on the grass with a baking pan and a mixing-bowl/spoon in front of her. She exclaims,“Ah, these are Deluxe mud pies…I’ve added buttermilk and brown sugar!”
She reaches out a pie to Charlie Brown and says,“Here, Charlie Brown, try one…”
She stands and puts her hands to her face. She asks as he takes a bite,“Are they all right?”
He replies,“I’m sorry, Violet, but I’ve got a cold, and really can’t taste a thing!”

Was “deluxe” two words back in the '50s, or did Schulz just have a !keming@lemmy.world moment?
Wiktionary lists de luxe as an alternate spelling of deluxe, so it was probably intentional. It was borrowed from French as “de luxe” and it seems the “deluxe” spelling is newer.
