The interesting thing about this is non federal workers see federal workers as “other”, union or no union. There’s also a general thought that federal employees live large with their benefits.
Im not backing either of these ideas, simply pointing them out. I just listened to nonfederal union staff discuss it like it doesn’t apply to them, they’re not worried about it applying to them, and don’t those guys already have it better than most? With some empathy that it must suck right now, for them.
There’s a large working class disconnect here that won’t incite a mass national coming together in outrage.
