Currently it’s very politics heavy and I don’t wanna unsub from those communities but other stuff kinda gets burried.

I think that’s less the fault of Lemmy’s algorithm and more the fault of the “interesting times” we’re living in. There’s just a fuck-ton of politics to be preoccupied with at the moment.
