This point in the winter for me is usually some of the worst for me with my mood. Abdominal pain doesn’t help any, nor does constant grey skies.
How is everyone else holding up. I know some of y’all are really struggling, and I just want you to know you have a cheerleader over here rooting for ya.
I can’t stop catching random bugs going around. Right now there’s one sending everyone running in the bathroom to vomit and shit everywhere.
I know if I catch that I’m out for a week, minimum. But so far, so good.
My issues are strictly IBS, thankfully, so I keep careful with my trigger foods and try to keep my anxiety in check…
But I’m still like you, these winter months grate on me terribly.
I live in a northern climate and we’ve had almost no snow, which triggers my anxiety a bit, even though it’s not in my control.
But I love the snow, so having no snow but still little daylight FUCKING SUCKS.
(relatively new to having UC) I started my first prescription for UC and it ended up giving me pancreatitis and almost two weeks in the hospital 😬. I was released today.
While not necessarily the funnest experience, I am a bit less skiddish of needles.
Mentally it hit me hard. First time a new prescription didn’t work positively, first MRI, CT, etc…
Being back home is nice, but i am not really enjoying anything like I used to. though I’m optimistic that the feeling is temporary.
The winter time is the worst. There is almost no sun here, only dark Grey skies. I’m treating myself daily with artificial light in my office room. I bought a 5xE27 photography stand and I’ve put strong light bulbs with high CR rate and a lot of lumens. They have different warmth so they cover the entire light spectrum. This lamp is pointing to the ceiling giving the light a nice spread.
Additionally, I have two e27 light bulbs behind my monitor screen, one monitor light pointing at the desk.
Finally, two plant light bulbs that are giving the energy to my Monstera and other plants. It helps only a bit, but we have to try whatever works :)
