Kelly told the New York Times that Trump meets the definition of a fascist and also said he observed the former president on multiple occasions praising Adolf Hitler.

Thirteen former Trump White House officials signed an open letter backing up former Trump chief of staff John Kelly, who told the New York Times that Trump fits the definition of a fascist.

“We applaud General Kelly for highlighting in stark details the danger of a second Trump term. Like General Kelly, we did not take the decision to come forward lightly,” the letter said. “We are all lifelong Republicans who served our country. However, there are moments in history where it becomes necessary to put country over party. This is one of those moments.”

Politico was first to report on the letter.

The fact that its still this close despite warnings from literally every segment of the political spectrum saying he’s a fundamental threat really makes me worried for America’s long term future

My hope is that a lot of younger Harris supporters haven’t been responding to polls since it just annoys them and the polling has been biased because it’s only older boomers responding.

However, there are moments in history where it becomes necessary to put country over party.

So putting the country first is the exception?

Not that it’s going to surprise anybody.

not that R voters would change their minds, but it’s cute that these people speak up now, after people have been early voting for a week

“Anthony Scaramucci” - not a great name of you’re looking for credibility… But hopefully the other signers and sheer numbers will carry weight.
