Democrats have made restoring abortion access a cornerstone of their campaign for the White House and Congress, but there are divisions over what, exactly, that means.

Given the deplorable state of women’s health even before Roe was struck down, might be a good idea to go farther and throw out the Hyde Amendment while you’re at it. There’s no compelling reason to deny women access to contraception and termination as part of Medicaid, given that this was routinely available through private insurance for decades.

They’re a lot more efficacious at supporting Netanyahu’s genocide than they are at protecting abortion rights.

Inflammatory language aside, supporting Israel is a lot easier because both parties favor it. Meanwhile the Democrats have to fight the Republicans about abortion.

Referring to selling weapons to a genocidal apartheid regime as “SuPpOrTiNg IsRaEl” is genocide apologia. If you don’t like being called out on it, good.

You can refer to it however you like; I don’t mind. However, I don’t think that your approach is going to convince anyone who doesn’t already agree with you.

You might not like it, but most Democrats will vote for both protecting abortion rights and supporting Israel.

that sounds ideal; why would anyone not like it?

There are a lot of people who don’t like Israel for varying reasons

Being an American ally and being Jewish isn’t the most popular combination in the region

Then there’s the humanist approach where they keep killing and torturing civilians

America is first and foremost a military complex. They’re loving this moment in history because they get to pound out tons of armaments for Israel and Ukraine, and not get put in hot water for putting American soldiers at risk. Of course they won’t stop it. One of the largest spends is US militarism.
