A stopgap spending bill that would avert an Oct. 1 government shutdown fell short in the U.S. Senate on Friday, as Democrats withheld support for the legislation while demanding higher spending for healthcare.

The 44-48 vote, coming on the eve of a week-long congressional recess, raises the chances that federal agencies will shut down if a deal between Republicans and Democrats cannot be struck before current funding expires at midnight on Sept. 30.

excellent. first time it would have just helped him wreck everything but now that he already has done it and owns it might as well shut it down. The best stuff is already gone anyway.

They will fold at the last minute like they always do, their resistance is a show they put on for the people who still think voting blue no matter who actually keeps fascists out of office (evidently, it does not)

people who still think voting blue no matter who

That’s revealed as a lie by liberals’ refusal to vote for Mandami.

In fact, it was always a lie all along – nothing but a cudgel with which to bludgeon Bernie supporters and divert blame from liberals’ own failure.

I’m no centrist and can’t speak for their values, but I vote third party and will continue doing so until they actually try to earn my vote. Sitting still on a bunch of wedge issues is loser shit.

Shut it down and call for a national general strike until all Republicans resign from government. If you want to avoid civil war, this is the only option left. Do not fuck it up, Democrats.
