The vast majority of Dutch voters have little confidence in politics and don’t expect things to improve after the upcoming election, Ipsos I&O found in its annual Budget Day survey for NOS.

I’m not sure of that. My impression is that many far-right voters actually want lefty things to happen. Since that’s not happening, their solution is to vote further to the right.

Far-right parties play in to this. They promise all the cool stuff, but deliver none. Far-right voters refuse to learn the lesson.

I think it’s a sentiment shared in most western countries nowadays and probably others as well.

We’ve grown disillusioned with political figureheads, they circular rhetoric and straight up lies.

Hell, I remember a few years ago a local news outlet published a statistic of “the most trusted professions” in my country. Suffice to say ‘Politician’ was at the bottom.

Of course things won‘t improve overall the way most people vote. The way I see it the only choice we actually have is between taxing the rich or eating the rich but most voters haven‘t figured that one out.
