From a May 2025 StatsCan data report published in July, 63.9% of the 1.5M Canadian crossborder automobile trips were day-trips. That could be commuters for work in a bordering community, a gas fill up, grocery run, going to an event, a park, or museum kind of visit. So only 541k Canadians were camping or staying at hotels in the US that month, the majority of the rest were probably border town residents going back and forth, not doing too many tourist-y things.
