The ownership of Shipley Do-Nuts, a name intrinsically tied to Houston and the city’s various cultural underpinnings, has officially changed hands. Peak Rock Capital announced it has sold the brand to Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, a California-based private equity firm.

    Sold by Austin-based private equity to California-based private equity. I’m sure they will continue on as mid as ever. Give me your average Korean grandma and grandpa actually putting enough jalapeños in the “kolaches” (I know they’re really klobasneks) and chucking a million doughnut holes in every order.

      Yeah, Shipley is only good when it’s super fresh. The initial thumbnail I saw had a different headline and I panicked at the thought of it being Round Rock donuts.
