If I remember right, my kid is of a similar age as your oldest. We depend on a “quiet time” (nap time, but we don’t really care if an actual nap happens - just no loud play) to get a little peace some days.
Yup us too. Especially since her brother isn’t old enough to be giving up naps. This weekend she had a lot of fun gluing shapes I cut out for her onto construction paper, making little colleges. We went to the craft store today and got more paper, glue, and her own kid scissors. Kept her very occupied as I passed out in the chair trying to read a book.
I did the quintessential dad thing just now; sat down in our recliner and promptly fell asleep.
Our oldest is very likely done taking naps. Ironically, since having kids, the number of naps I need is only going up.
