I had to walk to this place and back in the hot ass sun… god damn, that was brutal, but I’ll get used to it. I’ve done this for jobs in the past. I’m home now and chilling with a fresh beverage.
So when I say “I’m hoping for respect,” I mean that this lady who interviewed me better respect my time and effort to go there, especially since it was a rather short interview. The questions could’ve easily been handled in a 5 minute phone call, but I guess she wanted to see me in person.
She said that I will get an answer by end of the day tomorrow, but seeing as how I’ve had jobs tell me an estimate for when I get an answer and then totally ghost, I’m not going to be shocked if she doesn’t call back. I will try to reach her if she doesn’t call me by one hour before the place closes, but maybe that’ll even be futile.
Funny thing is… this place actually did offer me a job in the past, as I have quite a lot of experience with the work and they seemed nice enough to accept me, so why didn’t I take it? They ended up saying that the only spot they had available was in a totally different location which would be like a 2 hour walk for me. Obviously, as you can tell, I was quick to decline, and I was pissed. I hope this kind of offer doesn’t happen again, but I’m at a point of desperation where I may have to just thug it out and make a spending plan for some Ubers I guess. They seem to always be constantly hiring, and with my open availability and experience, I hope they’d be willing to hire me despite me being Black and androgynous (because apparently that’s not a good look for business 😒).
I’ll update you all… give me energy if you can I’m gonna go eat more chickpea salad now.
