Like naming surgical reconstruction centre’s after himself. Vader is his thug, he’s the Luca Brasi of the empire. Making Anakin an awkward creepy idiot in the prequels (aside from phantom menace but his role in that was ‘kid’) does flow well into Vader as character. It wasn’t compelling or fun to watch but I guess there is some logic to it.
