She doesn’t differentiate it enough from the gotye song. I like when people do samples well, but it sounds like she’s doing Kareoke but swapping out the lyrics. I don’t necessity hate it but I don’t love it.
Listening to it right now and that’s my thinking too. David Guetta has kind of ruined me on these kind of call backs. I don’t even know if I’d call them samples. Its not like when Beastie Boys used Led Zeppelin to produce their earlier albums, where the samples are very chopped and screwed. Its just the backing track loosely rearranged. Its almost like nostalgia bait.
