That was amazing!! Just wish we got to see the final image of the BIL on the veranda, broken and surrounded by 23 bags of rice

Massive success tbh. Imagine Havin to deal with 700 fucking bags of rice. Those sacks also looks to be 50 kg wholesale sacks meant for ration shops and godowns so thats likely 35 fucking TONS of rice.

EDIT: They’re actually 100 kg sacks, so 70 tons.

“Final terms: 23 bags, one bottle Old Monk, one bottle scotch*. Everyone is exhausted”

The whole point of this set of twitter pic conversations was the negotiation to not have to buy the whole lorry worth.

That was hilarious, thank you! I must admit I’m morbidly curious as to how one orders a truck of rice by mistake…

I’m assuming it’s a single pallet and the shop owner told the warehouse to send the minimum order amount. BIL probably thought it was just a few bags.

Wow. Do they do truck-loads of rice as Cash on Delivery there? If he didn’t pre-pay, can he just refuse delivery and not pay? No idea what verbal contract laws are in place.

These sorts of deals are usually based on trust. You might pay beforehand, on delivery, or later. But cancelling / not paying will tank your reputation.

In what country does “truck” refer to an SUV? I’m in America and I assumed at least a pickup truck.

A pickup has a bed and can carry much more rice than an SUV. I have no idea why anyone would assume they meant an SUV.

Pickup trucks and SUVs are both classified as light trucks. Also most of them are built on the same frames
