Hey everyone, I’m a bit nervous about sharing this. I haven’t touched any code in over a decade, but recently I decided to give it another go. Back in the early 2000s, I used to experiment with basic websites as a hobby, and now I’ve built a small database of cyberpunk media, games, and literature from scratch.
I have a thing for cassette futurism, so the design is pretty plain. I hope it might be useful, and I’ll do my best to keep adding new entries regularly. If you notice anything I’ve missed or have any suggestions, I’d really appreciate your input.
Thanks for taking a look!
Brilliant! A cyberpunk treasure trove is exactly the kind of thing I needed in my life. Thanks for your effort!
Thanks! I hope to be able to keep it updated daily.
On the homepage, is the “latest watch”, “latest play”, “latest read” the latest thing you’ve actually watched, played, read or just the latest items added to the website?
Those are latest entries added to the relevant (Watch, Play, Read) sections. I’m not tracking user’s behaviour in any shape or form. No cookies, no trackers, nothing.
How do you decide what to add? Is it automated or do you just add things anytime you stumble upon something new?
Entries are in order they have been added to the database. Whenever I come across something I feel might be a good fit for the database I am adding it manually.
I would like to add a link to this community to https://cyberpunkhub.com/about . Any chance you could help with a shorty description?
I’d love for you to add a link to this community, thanks!
As for a description, I don’t know what to say. My goal is to make this a place to discuss cyberpunk as a sci-fi genre and not complaining about the current world turning into a cyberpunk dystopia. So the only news items I’ll post will be about upcoming movies/games, not whatever stupid thing Amazon did recently. But that’s just me, it’s not like I enforce it or anything. Lemmy as a whole is so small that any new content at all is preferable to a dead community.

This is what I love about this community! I’ve added a link, please feel free to suggest any changes to the wording as english is not my first language.
This is very well done, thank you!
Thanks for visiting!
where do you get the ratings from? 8.1 for DEMON LORD 2099 and 7.9 for Akira is absurd lmao
For media it is all IMDB, for games — IGDB and for literature — Goodreads. I do agree that some ratings are absurd.
Hi, apparently the link is missing.
Ouch, For some reason I thought the URL field was for webpage, and not for the image. Sorry about that.
No worries, lol! ^^ Site looks really cool, already bookmarked it. :)
Thanks!
