This bombastic style of reporting isn’t helpful. The ruling doesn’t “strip” protections, it clarifies that Scotland made a law based on an error in interpretation of an earlier law, ergo those protections never existed. It further points out that the Equalities Act confers protections on trans people regardless. The protections of the Scottish law were a mirage - insubstantial and not legal.

This is an opportunity to introduce the protections Scotland thought were in force, but actually.

I can see why people are dismayed, but this is procedural law, and a route to more iron-clad protections in the future.

A dark day for us all, solidarity with anyone feeling more scared or unsafe after this ruling ❤️

I could give relative examples but I find it is pointless to waste my time as it is nearly impossible to hold intelligent, meaningful, and rationale conversations when it comes to this type of subject matter. No offense to you or anyone else intended.

Makes sense to me. I don’t think anyone with your opinions could really comprehend any biology past 3rd grade, let alone have a nuanced conversation about gender and society. No offense to you or anyone else intended.

Someone sounds triggered and unable to have a discussion without a strong emotional response. So much so that they had to agree on my behalf to “end the conversation”.

Guess I was right? No offense and all those pleasantries.
