Some of these recommendations are kinda wack…
BlueSky but no mention of Mastodon?
Deezer is primarily owned by an American investment fund
Tuta is actively enshittifying
ReVanced is still YouTube you’re just adding a middleman
HERE WeGo’s website doesn’t even load atm but where is OpenStreetMap and its thousands of frontends?I agree with all of those remarks except the last because the here we go app imo is the best google maps replacement
What does it do different?
Blue sky is based in the US tho. There may be instances elsewhere, but it’s still dependent on a US company (unlike Mastodon).
i barely use X/BlueSky anyway lol
Only just started using it, but Mullvad has open the doors to their new search engine.
It pulls results from Google.
Mullvad Leta uses the Google Search API as a proxy, caching each search. These cached results are shared amongst all users, reducing costs and improving privacy. This service is user-supported and doesn’t rely on ads or data selling.
Our browser extension simplifies access. Once your account number is set in the settings, there’s no need to log in each time. To protect against correlation attacks and manage costs, searches are cached for 30 days, possibly resulting in slightly outdated results.
I’ve moved my email and google Drive etc.to infomaniak.com and I’m very happy.
I’d like to replace google Photo’s, I’m struggling to find an alternative that also allows me to search using image recognition. (like in google photos)
Try Jotta Cloud, it’s originated in Norway.
Don’t use HERE WeGo. Jus another for-profit company with closed-source maps. Use OrganicMaps. It’s based on Open-Street-Maps.
Bluesky is just twitter 2.0, Mastodon is the better alternative
How do you make that list?
I took the original image and edited it using GIMP
Oh I see:) I wanted to make one and thought that maybe theres a site to make one
i wish hahah, wouldve been easier. and if there is idk what the name is
I was hoping for an uber alternative with bolt and thought it looked interesting…
