InDeath isn’t even an exclusive; besides, not everything‘s Meta‘s fault. The vast majority of games aren’t “forced” to only be on Quest, that’s just the biggest market and Studios have to decide where they want to focus their limited time and energy.

In Death (not Unchained) is abandoned on Steam. So much so, in fact, that it crashes when you launch it because the leaderboards were shut down. You have to go into your firewall and create a role to deny the Internet from the game in order for it to launch.

That sucks. It’s apparently not even worth supporting the game on PC, let alone create a dedicated version for other games.

I‘m not saying that’s ideal, it isn’t. I’d certainly like there to be more competition and a variety of successful or at least sustainable VR platforms, but that’s apparently not where we’re at currently.

But for all of the jackassery that Meta has going on, it’s unfair to blame this particular situation on them. It’s not an exclusive, unchained is a port from the PC version.

The port is from a different studio, if I remember correctly they might be completely independent. The support on Quest has been excellent, it looks great (even got a Q3 update but it already was one of the best looking games before), plays great and got a constant stream of new stuff.
