I stop being funny immediately after we leave the dating app.

        Blunder ahaha

Not sure what these are, from my same search:

…but some might be applicable for that uncomfortable OK Cupid data:

For Chess.com, that’s the icons for a forced move. Or at least that’s the file name, I haven’t been able to find a central place for the icon scenarios.

Is it that “with attack” from the second image?

An attack is a great form of defense in itself and playing an aggressive, strong game from the beginning gives a player a significant advantage throughout the game.

With good enough counterplay, she might let you connect pawns. (Still reading the symbols, I don’t play chess :) )

I’m funniest when I’m alone in my car, after work, thinking about what happened and all of the really funny things I should’ve said. They’re really good.

See, I’m the same way. I’ll intentionally make myself look stupid—and it should be clear it’s a joke. But maybe you need the context of knowing the person to understand that? Because the understanding and volleying back of the repartee drops significantly on dating apps. Everything I mention on my profile is a joke, so…expect jokes when we match? I think people just assume the worst—particularly women on dating apps, most likely as a defense mechanism. I assume women have to go into every encounter with male strangers on the internet already on guard. So when anything out of the ordinary gets thrown their way, they’re just like, “…eh, I think it’s probably safer just to shut this down now before it gets weird.”

That’s what I tell myself anyway. Because I know I’m hilarious and it’s absolutely not that my jokes aren’t landing. They’re landing. Women are just intimidated by my wry wit.

You’re simply too funny to date anyone. They wouldn’t be able to stop laughing and it would cause chronic muscle pain in their abs.

I once made someone laugh so hard they darted, then they laughed at me laughing at their laugh fart and kept darting. My wit is truly dangerous.

See, I keep telling that to my mom. But she just won’t stop crying long enough to really hear it, yknow?

The biggest boost to my confidence was when I realized I don’t have to feel bad about being socially awkward, I can simply own it and choose to believe its endearing. That may well not be the case and I’m just a blubbering idiot, but it gets me out and talking to people and generally happier which is what’s most important
