Adam Britton, a leading zoologist who has worked on BBC and National Geographic productions, pleaded guilty to 56 charges relating to bestiality and animal cruelty.

He also admitted to four counts of accessing child abuse material.

The Northern Territory (NT) Supreme Court heard the 53-year-old filmed himself torturing the animals until almost all died, and then shared the videos online under pseudonyms.

His abuse went unnoticed for years, until a clue was found in one of his videos. Britton was arrested in April 2022 after a search of his rural Darwin property, which also uncovered child abuse material on his laptop.

    This is in line with the implication of carnism. Animals are simply objects to be consumed for pleasure. They have no intrinsic value; their only value is derived from the carnist’s own emotional attachment to them.

    Much of the detail of Britton’s crimes are too graphic to publish, and so “grotesque” Chief Justice Michael Grant warned the courtroom they could cause “nervous shock”.

    And yet he’ll be up for parole in 2028. This fucker deserves a life sentence.

    I’ve been following this case for almost two years, the sick fuck did this in my home town.

    The degree of pain this cunt inflicted is disgusting. I regret reading the detailed description of the 1B9P video, it made me sick.

    To give this piece of shit the opportunity to reenter society, and potentially torture other animals, is unacceptable. 10 years doesn’t cut it.

    The judge stated that his conduct “involved a degree of depravity and reprehensibility which falls entirely outside any ordinary human conception and comprehension.”
